In a turbulent world, do genes play an important role in determining how you cope and react to crises? Veteran industrial and organisational psychologist and researcher, Professor Richard Arvey, is set to inspire 2,000 delegates with his thought-provoking keynote address, titled “Recipe for success: is it all in your genes?” on 6 October 2009.
Hailing from the USA, Arvey is currently the Head of the Department of Management and Organisation, National University of Singapore and is recognised as one of the top ten most published authors in Journal of Applied Psychology and Personnel Psychology for two decades. Over the years, Arvey has published more than 100 articles, chapters and technical reports, including his book – “Fairness in Selecting Employees”.
Arvey’s keynote will kick-start IT&CMA and CTW Asia-Pacific. The 2009 doublebill event (two shows at one location) is themed “Feast on Asia!”.

Do Your Part for Ban Kru Noi's Needy Kids
 |
Join hands with IT&CMA and CTW to give back to society through the Carry for Kids (CFK) charity project. The newly-adopted charity for 2009 is the Ban Kru Noi (“House of Kru Noi” in Thai).
In 1980, Kru Nuannoi Timkul or “Kru Noi” began helping the poor, handicapped and abandoned children even though she herself was affected by a stroke and was not rich. Since then, she has helped about 800 children, bringing them into her own home to feed and care for them.
Today, through the help of the Department of Public Welfare and volunteers from various institutions, the children are taught career-oriented activities like handicrafts, drawing and art.
