DOUBLEBILL THEME FOR MEETINGS AND BUSINESS TRAVEL SHOWS  

Star-studded action for 2 exciting trade shows in October in Bangkok, Thailand

Singapore, 12 April 2004 – TTG Asia Media releases a Doublebill event for two shows- the 12th Incentive Travel & Conventions, Meetings Asia (IT&CMA) and the 7th Corporate Travel World (CTW) Asia-Pacific in Thailand from 12-14 October 2004. The organiser, TTG Asia Media will for the first timeco-locate this two-show event at the IMPACT Convention Center simultaneously in Bangkok.

Delegates can expect an event of movie-world magic and entertainment. A targeted 350 meetings and incentive travel buyers and 200 corporate travel managers from 35 countries will be hosted to attend the ‘star-studded’ event. They will be flown to Bangkok on Thai Airways, stay in luxury hotels and taken on familiarization tours in the city.

“A total of 3,000 international delegates are expected to attend IT&CMA and CTW. By co-locating the two shows, this will definitely result in a bigger participation of exhibitors and attendance of delegates and visitors. It means time and cost savings for both suppliers and buyers in the industry,” says Darren Ng, TTG Asia Media’s Managing Director.

In the first series of road show promotions to drum up attendance, a premiere of the Doublebill event was recently launched at M-Hotel, Singapore. Travel managers were invited to register for the Hosting Programme and to a night of ‘live’ entertainment, food and lucky draw. Winners of the lucky draw were treated to complimentary movie tickets. Similar promotions are planned for major cities in Vietnam, Korea, Hong Kong, China and Thailand.

The Doublebill theme will be carried across different mediums including the event website, advertising, collaterals, exhibition venue construction and signage, performances and activities. At the shows, the exhibition floor will be dressed with life-size celebrity cutouts, film reels and stars, popcorn machines and posters carrying Hollywood movies. Even a special tote bag carrying the movie-making clapboard will be given to delegates.

The Doublebill will culminate in a grand finale on the last day. The organiser will stage its third annual Sticky Awards billed as the ‘Oscars’ for the industry. A Sticky Award is an award given to exhibitors in recognition for their exemplified creativity and effort in their show exhibits, marketing and promotions at the Doublebill event. In addition to the 10 categories for the Sticky Awards including ‘Best Booth’, ‘Best Premium’, Best Costume Design and ‘Best Reception’, a new category called ‘Best Airline Display’ will be introduced at this year’s shows.

IT&CMA is the leading show for the Meetings, Incentive Travel, Conventions & Exhibitions (MICE) industry in the region while CTW Asia-Pacific is a conference and exhibition on business travel and entertainment for the corporate travel industry.
