International Delegates to Carry For Kids at Doublebill Event in Bangkok

Singapore, 6 October 2004 - When more than 2,000 delegates from 37 countries convene in Bangkok for the 12th IT&CMA (Incentive Travel & Conventions, Meetings Asia) and 7th CTW (Corporate Travel World) Asia-Pacific, they will be doing their part for charity.

Coming from the MICE (meetings, incentive travel, conventions and exhibitions) and corporate travel industries, international delegates will be encouraged to bring necessity items such as toothbrushes, clothing, shoes, toys, stationery and school bags for underprivileged children in Thailand.

Show organisers, TTG Asia are championing the ‘Carry for Kids’ charity drive for the Baan Rajvithee Orphanage for girls and the Pak Kred Babies Home. They will be promoting the ‘Carry for Kids’ campaign and encouraging foreign delegates to bring something from the ‘wish list’ for the girls and babies of these homes.

The Pak Kred Babies Home provides a loving place for 320 infants aged up to 5 years while the Baan Rajvithee Orphanage accommodates 384 children aged from 5 to 18 years. These disadvantaged infants and young girls have been abandoned, or come from broken homes, or are basically homeless.

‘Carry for Kids’ promotes and educates airline staff, travel agents, industry partners and travellers about how they can - as individuals - make a difference to the lives of underprivileged children in developing countries. The programme encourages travellers to carry a parcel of necessities for the less fortunate children in selected homes and orphanages. More information can be obtained from the website - http://www.carryforkids.org/about/about.shtml

Co-located for the first time in Thailand and dubbed the ‘Doublebill’ (two shows in one location), IT&CMA and CTW Asia-Pacific will be held on 12-14 October 2004 at the IMPACT Convention Center. Open to trade visitors, the exhibition will be held in Bangkok for the last time before it moves to Pattaya from 11-13 October 2005 and 10-12 October 2006.

IT&CMA and CTW Asia-Pacific are supported by the Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Thailand Incentive and Convention Association (TICA) and Thai Airways International.
